Hedgemon Lewis has passed away

Today Hedgemon Lewis died. He had a record of 53(26 KO)-7(4 KO)-2.

His last fight was a loss to my friend John H Stracey. I have spoken to John many time over the years about his career and this is the first defence of his World Welterweight title which he won from Jose Napoles.

Lewis had two cracks at Jose Napoles and lost both of them before having his third and final attempt against John, he lost the fight by TKO.
